After this stroll and a strong breakfast we continued south towards Jajce, a place that was heavy battled during the the 1995 war and many buildings had been destroyed including the mosque. Still bullet holes can be seen on the wall of the houses and the city has not be restored to the full glory.
The trademark of the city is the 52 m high waterfall of the river Pliva into the river Vrbas forming a nice scenery and a good place of refreshment.

We found a cosy home to stay right above the rebuilt mosque with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city. (If you zoom in you will find Markus looking through the wine leaves)
Because sometimes the quality of hotels offers still does not match our expectations - smile...
We cooled down refreshing ourself in the upper Pliva lake.
and visited the 19 medival mills that are situated beside the river on a
lovely spot. In medieval times the payment for milling was done by the
10th of the material ground and the indication that the mill was in
operation by the open door of the little house - upright standing within
is hardly possible! They are a beautiful setting beside the river
In the evening, when temperatures dropped below 30 degrees, we started to explore the city climbing the fortress with beautiful views over the city,
The views to the tower of the holy Lukas, that served latest as mosque before being burnt down
In the evening the usual culinary highlights like Cevap and a beer to close of the day, viewing the Muslim community celebrating the upcoming end of Ramadan in front of the mosque.
