From Mostar to Una - a Bosnian road movie

As we woke up, the sun already started early and temperature was already at 35 degrees. Below you can see the view of our pool and behind a building covered with bullets holes, this shows how close war and normal life in Bosnia Herzegovina is. Nevertheless we enjoyed our coffee on the terrace before we started for a last  morning walk through the city.

The inclined bridge, the small sister of the large one. By the way, this is also a reconstruction, the old one collapsed on 31th  Dec. 1999 !!! due to the damages during the war.

The Mostar postcard picture

One the old bridges life is already busy. We where happy not to be in the situation to jump down or take photos for our wedding in wedding dress and black suit at 40 degrees.

A picture with no comments - two sides of the river still divided in ethnic groups

After a last visit to our pool we left Mostar, happy that our car has an air condition. Short photo stop at Medjogorje. .........

the Mecca of Vergin Mary appearance freaks with the necessary souvenir shops aside

I was opting for the the life size statue for our living room but Konstanze did not give permission - too sad

The next goal was suiting much better on this day: Kravica waterfall, with nice cool water - as you can see many other people felt similar at 42 degrees in the shade

Now wonder that we have not been the only one. On this day it was really the only place to feel comfortable. Near the waterfall, in the water or under the cascading waters.

It was really a great experience to climb behind the waterfall.

We continued out way north towards the Una river through low populated parts of Bosnia - with some great impressions

Intermediate stop in Livno at the source of the Bistrica

The classical car-mirror flow motion shot

Left and destroyed houses are found in the country side

And finally after a splendid sunset we reached Lohovo a village at the Una river after 5 hours driving and this were the road movie ends and rafting will start tomorrow
